Morning Observations in Nature

I noticed many things this morning and I wanted to share them in poem form.

The birds enjoy singing, high above danger.
One comes down, nervously picking at the ground.
A much braver bird comes down, intrigued by my presence.

A piece of lichen intrepidly pushes it's way through dead old leaves,
and an extremely small plant desperately clings to a bigger root.
One small hole in the bushes makes me wonder what is in the dark.

A broken branch swings in the bitter breeze,
and the slightest movement in the air causes the leaves to tremble.
Although the sun refuses to shine, God has still given us many pleasures.
